6 actual keys (2 for the store, 2 for the apartment in MI, 1 for the house, 1 for my car), plus an assortment of crap

Groceries? You mean as in cooking? Good one :P I buy candy from the 8-twelve minimart across from work, and usually get some ice cream from Wa-Wa's, but that's it for groceries

Depends on the picture. If it involves a hot girl in some stage of undress (wish I could take more pics like that) I want to be in the picture. If it involves artists on stage, I want to take it, and then take pics with them later.

More lottery tickets (been there, but it was scratch-tickets :P) Serious? Depends on how much money. Probably an iPod, a bunch of CDs, DVDs and shirts from the store. If it was a more substantial win, I would buy some real estate :P

Sure, but I couldn't be bothered to pay attention

Do you ever take medication to help you fall asleep faster?
The last time I took medication was when I had to have a root canal... I took four of the 20 vicodin they gave me over a period of a few weeks. Do I sound like I take medications for something like falling asleep?

What CD is currently in your CD player?
In the computer at work a CD with Lunascape remixes. In my Discman Ayria's Debris. Once I am done screening the Lunascape the CD player at work will get Debris, The Birthday Massacre's Violet, Tanzwut Live (2CD) and probably the new Dresden Dolls.

Yeah, when I was in 7th grade we protested Desert Storm. It was ridiculous. We all gathered with the teachers and marched once around City Hall. When I graduated HS we staged a more subtle protest against some city policies and I was the key person. Humiliating City Hall on our senior formal was awesome, especially with several of my fellow students writing the newspaper articles about it :P

I know I haven't written in ages. But we've been really busy and a lot has gone on in our little lives.

First of all, Daddy graduated from this college thing he kept going off to. *Drumroll and applause please* He finished his thesis thing and defended it in December, after spending a lot of time working on it instead of playing with me.

After that he spent a lot of time at home, since he could no longer work at nights and had to find a 'real job' as he called it. He did find one of those, which led to important news #3:

We moved halfway across the country. We are now living in a place called 'Delaware' and Daddy drives to a city called 'Phillydelphia' every day. He's gone for a long time, but he seems happy about it. He is working for a company called Dancing Ferret Discs. Strange name. The ferrets I met never danced, they kinda just hobbled along and fell off places. But oh well, maybe the ferrets in Phillydelphia actually dance on discs...

Instead of our nice apartment we now live in a nice house, where daddy is renting a room. The house belongs to a nice lady, who sometimes scolds me, but is otherwise pretty cool. Daddy and her get along really well. She has a cat named Kona, and her and I have had our differences. All I want is to play tag while she's sleeping, and she doesn't always like that... but we get along much better now.

The trip down to Delaware was not nice though... I don't like the car, and this time Daddy did not put me in the carrier. He said something about not wanting me to be cooped up for ten hours. The night before the sneaky bastard actually tried to put something into my water, but smart cat as I am, I didn't touch it. But I was so scared on the drive that Daddy said I started to breathe all funny. So he stopped over and we visited the vet. She was nice, but after she petted me for a bit she poked me with a needle. Why does she keep doing that? Anyhow, I got really tired and I slept most of the way to Delaware. I think Daddy was happy about that too. Though he kept calling me sneakycat again, because I looked for a nice dark place to sleep in and he couldn't find me for a few minutes.

Daddy really likes Phillydelphia and Delaware. He keeps saying that we lived in a cultural wasteland in Michigan. Nice people, but nothing much to do. Here he has a lot to do for work, but he has a great time. Last night he met a woman called Kristanna Loken, who apparently is some sort of movie star. And he hung out with Steven and Donna from Ego Likeness and Voltaire. He came home really late, but he must have enjoyed himself. And every Wednesday he goes to something called Nocturne, which seems a lot of fun as well. I'd love to go with him sometime, but I know I'd have to ride in the car, and I don't want that.

Anyhow, we will try to post more often in the future, but oh well, I'm a cat, easily distracted by oooh... shiny....

But I'm working on it... if only the game designers didn't make it so damn easy to twink out :P

Ren Faire today

Today Daddy went to Ren Faire in Holly. He usually has a great time, and though he and his friends left late today, he still got to see a lot of nice things. He drooled over a pair of tooled leather greaves at Pyramid, but he didn't have the money, so he has to wait until next year :(

He actually met a few nice people at one of the booths, and hung out with them for quite a while. Either he is not as repulsive and anti-social as he believed he was (that's what he'd like to think) or they took pity on the pathetic little creature he is (that's what I think *smirk*)

He keeps cleaning the place, yesterday he scared the living shit out of me with a noise-maker from hell. On the other hand, when he was done the floor was all clean and nice and soft under my paws. So I guess it's a trade-off. I just hope he won't do it again anytime soon. But knowing my luck he'll do it tommorow.

Right now he's at work, so I will take a nap on his clean shirts, or maybe his underwear, so it's all marked as MINE when he comes home. Aren't I just too sweet, letting him know exactly what to expect? Maybe I'll even find some tuna in the magic cupboard. He bought a new can-opener after I accidentally broke the old one (he doesn't know it was me, he is still wondering why it broke) but I think it's a feline-unfriendly one as well... Why can't they make a can-opener that cats can use?

Daddy has been gone all day. Apparently his work shifts changed, so he now works Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Since he has class all day on Mondays that means he leaves early in the morning and doesn't come back until Tuesday morning. I hate that. Maybe in the future he will come home after his last class, rather than waste his time in the stupid computer labs. He has to play with me and make me feel loved and wanted, or I will be upset. And when the Bounce is upset, PEOPLE DIE!!!

Anyhow, I know he is getting really excited because Chris and Steffi will be here in a week. He is slightly stressed about getting the place cleaned up, since Sara never got her shit together to get her shit out of there. He will probably just dump it all. She has made it abundantly clear that she does not want it anymore. Interesting how fast passionate love can turn into apparent indifference. A little scary even.

Anyhow, there is not much going on here as usual. My life is very simple. I wake up. I pester daddy. I eat. I pester daddy. I miss daddy while he's gone. I sleep. Being a cat RULES!

Things are back to normal here...

Daddy has come home about two weeks ago, and picked me up two days after he got home. It was great seeing the big guy again, even though I'll miss my little playmate at Chris and Summer's place. They got a baby kitten a few weeks before I left. Oh well, I am back with daddy now, and I am happy.

Unfortunately Tink crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few weeks ago, but the other rats have grown huge. I know that I would not mess with them now, if they were out of their cage. But they don't come out, I don't go in there, and we all are cool *smirks*

Daddy is trying to get his apartment taken care of, since two of his friends are coming to visit in three weeks. He tried to contact Sara about it, hopefully they can get her stuff out within the next two weeks. He is really looking forward to that visit, and I am curious to see the people that Daddy hangs out with in his cat-free time.

Oh well, gotta go raid the magic cupboard... there's GOT to be tuna here somewhere...

M'era Luna Festival 2004

Daddy just got back from something called M'era Luna 2004, where he spent the entire weekend. It's a major darkwave/goth festival a few hours away from his place in Germany. I think I will write this now the way he would write it. So remember, any 'I', 'me', and similar things do NOT refer to your fuzzy little superkitten, but to the big blockhead I call daddy :P

Friday, August 6th, 2004. While I greatly miss the beautiful, fuzzy, snuggable and divine cynosure of my existence, Bounce the Wondercat, I roused myself from the comatose condition I vegetate in without him, in order to travel to Hildesheim, where once again, like every year, thousands of black-clad people gathered in the sweltering heat of the second weekend of August, in order to celebrate great music and an alternative lifestyle. Of course the A2 is in one of its two conditions (no, not rain this time, construction) and the drive takes almost 4 hours, so that I arrive at around 7ish, and most of the good camping spots are already taken. Still, I manage to find a place near the showers, right next to the main road.

The highly entertaining performance of 'Big Klutz with Tent' is followed by the even more hilarious 'Big Klutz with air matress and sleeping bag.' After all my stuff and gear is taken care of, I decide to get some real food one last time, and go for some yummy gyros. Before I even leave the campsite I run into Micro and Ines, and we chat for a few. I write down Micro's cell-# even though my own cell mysteriously stopped working. On the parking lot I see the next familiar face, Ivy, one of the few people from my own high school class I actually liked :P We chat for quite a while, and I get totally jealous when I find out that she and her boyfriend (?) have a big-ass RV, with a working fridge... cool drinks are a luxury this weekend. All I have is my dinky, crooked little tent, which has just enough room for me and my backpack. Anyhow, I head over to the Greek restaurant a few hundred yards down the road. Familiar face #3, Alex, who shared a ride with me last year. He is VERY drunk, and about to leave, but that's okay. I decide not to head out with them, since I really really really need real food.

Back at my tent I realize something dreadful. Somehow the combination of my lock has changed without me noticing it. It was a cheap-ass lock, so it is not surprising that this happened, but it is fucking annoying. Especially when I realize that my maglite and my leatherman are inside the tent. My other maglite and my other tools are in my trunk, which is safely locked with the key inside my tent. Of course I am just a big dumb human, a cat like Bounce would never have made a mistake like that. The guys next to me try to help me out, but it's no use. So I walk off to find a security guard. I find quite a few, but not a single one of them has a tool, or even a walkie-talkie to reach somebody who does. They are very helpful though, and promise to send help my way once they see somebody. Eventually I find a sec with a cell phone, who calls another sec with a tool. The lock puts up some brave resistance, but to no avail. I finally manage to crawl into my tent and sleep... only to have my tent collapse again and again, as people trip over my tent lines, making my little shelter collapse on top of me. This is the last time I use this little POS tent.

Saturday, August 7th

My tent has collapsed around my again, and I hear people talking outside. I am still tired as shit, but decide to get up, so I have enough time to get ready before the entrance opens. The people talking outside tell me that it is not even 5 yet, so the two weeks of honest work I just went through DID do major damage to me after all. Getting up at the asscrack of dawn is not exactly exciting. I crawl back into my tent, hoping to catch a little more sleep.

Eventually it is morning, and I get ready. Last year I learned (quite painfully) that sunburn hurts like a bitch from hell, especially a burnt scalp and forehead. I am a little iffy about my digicam, so I take the regular one as well, just in case. Happily I make my way to the actual festival grounds, and get in without any problems. Even though I carry a multi-tool and a digital camera the sec lets me in without even asking me to show him my camera.

I browse the merch area, while the first band, Flowing Tears, is playing on the main stage. I prefer to check out the place first, and then slowly make my way forward later on. As long as I am up front for The Mission I am happy :P At the Sonic Seducer tent I see yet another familiar face, somebody I met at a Cruxshadows show in Bielefeld a few weeks ago. We talk for a few minutes, then I am off again. By the time I arrive at the stage I already bought two t-shirts and several CDs. I walk up ahead as far as I can, trying hard not to retch as Medusa gives her little spiel announcing the next band. I can't stand that woman. She has no stage presence, and does not really seem like she knows what she is talking about. Her announcements seem like she prepared them weeks ago, and practiced them in front of a mirror for hours, to get them just right. The next band is bloody awesome though. Saltatio Mortis put up a great show, with cool songs and witty transitions. The crowd loves it, and I make a mental note to get their CDs ASAP. Unfortunately the set is too short, barely more than half an hour. I move up ahead as others push back to get more beer or some food.

The next band, Epica from Holland, is one of many doom-metal combos that have appeared following the success of Nightwish, Within Temptation and others. Their singer is very pretty and very talented, though the male vocals are a little hard for my taste. They dedicate one song to one of their fans, who celebrates his birthday today, and are somebody with potential in my opinion.

Epica is followed by a band that supposedly puts up a shocking and controversial BDSM show and has the most animalic frontman of any current band. Umbra et Imago sound okay, but I am not too convinced. The music is okay, the frontman has a certain charisma, but the BDSM show is neither shocking nor controversial to me. Sure, cunnilingus and bondage on stage might shock some, but seemed very over-the-top and contrived. The women have a blank look in their eyes, as if they are doing (and have done to them) things because they are part of the show and are expected, not for actual enjoyment. Except for the afore-mentioned oral sex on stage, and the frontman rubbing himself everything was pretty tame and boring, especially for people familiar with the Genitorturers :P

Luckily Umbra et Imago are followed by a really awesome band (and I managed to get much closer to the stage. Fiddler's Green recently celebrated their 1000th concert, and they rock the fucking house. They sound a little bit like Subway to Sally used to ten years ago, and the crowd loves it. Along with Saltatio Mortis they are my favourite band so far, and their CD is on my list of must-buys. A forty-minute set is WAY WAY WAY too short, as I make my way closer to the stage, ending up in the second row.

By this time the sun has come around, and we are being slow-roasted in our black outfits. The security guards are very attentive, handing out bottles of water to the crowd, and hosing us down with water. I had forgotten how great water can smell. I worry a little about my sunblocker, especially seeing the puffy red shoulder of the girl in front of me. But we are being cooled down, and that is good enough for me right now.

Tristania, another doom-metal combo from Norway, is pretty damn good, the female vocalist has one of the most stunning soprano voices I ever heard, though the male vocals once again are a little harsh for my taste. I am still dazed from FG's set, and yearning to see The Mission, so I can't say too much about Tristania. And soon enough it is break time again, which means more water fights with the secs, more fun from the firehose, and another chance to cool down a little.

Finally The Mission come on stage, and of course Wayne carries his bottle of red. Last year his solo set was bloody awesome, and I am excited to see him with the entire band now. Unfortunately the sound is not mixed too well, and sometimes his voice does not come through, sometimes it is too indistinct, so I do not recognize several songs until he kicks into the chorus. Oh well, it still sounds awesome. I would love to see them at a club sometime though, because I think they are still a little better there. Wayne does not look too happy either, though I am pretty sure that this was not the first time in the 20 years history of the band that the sound was not as great as it could be :P

More water, more waterfights. More bad announcements from Medusa, and L'ame Immortelle from Vienna take the stage. Of course just now my digital camera runs out of batteries, and all the spares are in my tent, so I will have to wait until my regular pics are developed. I had not heard L'ame before, but now I love them. Their stage presence is great, their songs are hauntingly beautiful, and they have a lot of energy.

In Extremo is another band I am excited about. I love Subway to Sally, I love Tanzwut, I now love Fiddler's Green and Saltatio Mortis, and the two major medieval bands I know of are In Extremo and Schandmaul, who play tommorow. And In Extremo does not disappoint me. The songs are awesome, and the singer's ability to sing in fluent Latin is impressive. Of course I have no idea if the Latin is as fluent and correct as it seems, but I don't really care. It sounds incredibly cool. Again the set is over way too short.

Within Temptation is the next band, and I am anxious to see them as well. I missed them last year, but I loved their CD. The dutch girls next to me tell me that they go to every show they can get to, which I can understand. I feel the same way about the Crüxshadows (who unfortunately are not playing here this weekend) and some other bands. Within Temptation is bloody awesome. Sharon's stage presence (I use that word a lot, don't I?) is wonderful, the music is awesome, the crowd loves it. And the pyrotechnics make my ears ring :P I love the show, but it is over too soon.

As soon as Within Temptation is off-stage I make my way back as well. I have not eaten in almost twelve hours, I need something cold to drink, and I want to pick up a little more merch. Plus I have seen Wolfsheim (the headliner) before, and was not too impressed. Their stageshow is almost non-existent, so I might as well listen to them from afar. I finally decide to turn in, sleeping a little better this night.

Sunday, August 8th

Today the only two bands I really want to see don't play until the afternoon, so I have a lot of time to kill. I take all my crap to the car early on, taking only a small backpack with drinks and my cameras inside. I chat a little longer with the girl at the Sonic Seducer tent, and manage to find a Fiddler's Green CD. No luck getting anything by Saltatio Mortis though. So I make my way into the hangar (which I did not visit at all yesterday) to wait for Schandmaul and Gothminister.

The hangar is still pretty empty, so I can make my way into the second row easily. The main advantages of the hangar are no sun and no Medusa. The downside is that the place heats up really fast. But right now it is still okay. I start chatting with the people in front of me, and find out that there is still one place to check for Saltatio CDs. I don't really feel like going there right now though, the view is too good.

The first band is rather old school, sounding a lot like old The Cure. That is okay though, after all Robert Smith is God. Well, not God, but close enough :P Their set of about 20 mins is not too long and not too short, but we will see if they can make the cut.

The same goes for the next band, Elis. Another doom-metal band (there seems to be a lot of those around lately) with a female vocalist. They are okay, I heard better, but I heard a lot worse as well (Xandria anyone?) Their set time is okay as well, about half an hour.

The next band's set is WAY too short though. Chamber are just bloody awesome, with three violins, a bass, a cello, guitars and more. The frontman has a great voice, the music is beautiful, and an arrangement of Rammstein's Engel has the entire crowd singing along. The hangar is packed now, and the excitement is so thick in the air that you can almost taste it. Unfortunately they cannot give an encore, because of the tight schedule of the festival.

They are a hard act to follow though, and Pink Turns Blue suffer a little needlessly. They are not bad at all, but they fail to move the crowd the way Chamber did. It is not quite conceivable why they got a 40 minute set, while Chamber had to make do with 25. At one point I actually feel sorry for the singer, as he tries to animate the crowd to clap, and hardly anybody does. He did not really deserve that. For his last song he tries to do a Rogue and walk through the crowd. Unfortunately he apparently overlooked the girl sitting in front of me (with her back against the barricade, so she might have been hard to see) and almost jumps onto her head. Which would have been a shame, she was too pretty to get her skull crushed by that guy :P She can get out of the way in time, but the guy leans a little hard on my shoulder on his way into the crowd, leaving a welt that is still visible. I actually knew the last song he sings, though I had no idea that it was by him. Plus I had it on a tape my cousin's ex-boyfriend made for me 10 years ago, so I plead innocent there.

The secs water us and spray us down, which is bloody decent of them. Then Schandmaul take the stage. They are pretty good as well, but I think I am a little jaded on fiddle bands right now. If you don't know any of them, they all sound similar after a while. Still pretty damn good.

Finally I make my way to the front row in time for Gothminister. I only caught a bit of his show from afar last year, and I liked it, so now I am happy to see the rest of the show. While his make-up last year was mostly white, he now comes on-stage with metallic grey, almost black face-paint. Dementia is pretty as ever, but very disturbing, due to her contacts and her puppet-like movements. I have to think of Pris in Blade Runner, which shows how stuffed my head is with movie trivia and pulp. During the show they change costumes several times, which kinda drags a little, but the music is awesome.

After the show I walk around one more time, buy three Saltatio Mortis CDs at the place that was pointed out to me (Thanks Becky) one of them signed :P Then I make my way home, since I have to work tommorow morning. I could wait for Lacrimosa to take the stage at shortly before 9, but then I would not get home until 2 am, which rather sucks if you need to work at 6.30 the next day :P

Ten Things Daddy Learned at M'era Luna 2004

1. Do NOT lock your tent with cheap-ass combination locks that fuck you over when you try to open them :(

2. Security guards with multi-functional tools (i.e. Leatherman) are great people to find if you want to get back into your tent after midnight... they are also fucking hard people to find after midnight

3. The only person who is an even greater friend than the security guard with the leatherman, is the security guard with the firehose...

4. Water smells FUCKING AWESOME!!!

5. If the lines in front of the real toilets are half a mile long, you can always try the stinky yucky dixies... they will be lonely and unwanted...

6. If you buy CDs by obscure bands that are not well-known, remember your spelling... or you might end up with Susperia, rather than Suspiria.

7. Whoever invented sunscreen lotion deserves a 300 foot statue made from pure gold in his honor. But nowhere too hot, so it won't melt... like ice in the sunshine, like ice in the sunshine... errr... okay, nevermind :P

8. Just because there are people walking by your tent and having loud conversations about showers and sleeping late, does NOT mean it is later than 4.30 am.

9. A maglite and a leatherman are NOT useful when they are INSIDE your locked tent, and you are OUTSIDE your locked tent.

10. Since people ALWAYS trip over your tent lines and make your tent collapse on your poor sleeping body, and then drag the lines away without noticing, it is always good to bring extra string... lots of it.

Though it is interesting... all three names/IDs dad uses, give different ppl he likes :P

Until Daddy comes back to Michigan. I think it is high time. I miss the big klutz... And I know he really misses me too.

But I think he is really looking forward to his freedom again. While he really loves his family, it is getting too much for him. They love to spend HIS time. It is not even that, which bugs him. Sure he is willing to help out. Sure he doesn't mind the lawn. But what pisses him off royally is that they don't even ASK him anymore. It is more like 'Saturday we'll work on removing those beams and lay down the rest of the floorboards' or 'If the weather is good at three, you can go and mow the lawn' Stuff like that brings daddy's blood to the boiling point. But since he is a nice and gentle person he doesn't do what he feels like doing, and tells them all to go to hell.

Monday he'll start a summer job for four weeks. His mom doesn't like him sitting around all day doing nothing. Well, it was not HIS idea to come over for four months. He had to have his visa renewed, which used to take eight weeks minimum... and took two this time. Otherwise he would either have stayed in Michigan longer, or returned to Michigan sooner. And next summer he's probably going to go over for only eight weeks... this way he can enjoy the Michigan summer, work his night job, and cuddle me.

I think having this job will help daddy get his mind off the kitten-shaped hole in his life, his lack of feline companionship that he is going through at the moment. And having a little extra money sure won't hurt... though it is doubtful how much of that money he will get as actual spending money... it is more likely that his parents will tell him 'You can use this for gas and food, this way we don't have to help you out for a month or two' In some certain key areas daddy knows exactly what to expect from his people...

Anyhow, he was really happy last week, when he got to go to that concert of his. Apparently the show was awesome as always, and he can't wait to see them again this sunday. I hope he'll have a great time, he is taking two of his friends to see the Cruxshadows for the first time ever... and hopes that they will be just as hooked as he is...

*Purrs softly* I know that he hopes that I will even remember him when he gets back, and that I am not mad at him for leaving me for this long. Four months is a LONG time for a little kitten... well, I won't forget him, but I am still a little miffed about being left alone for so long... we will see if I can forgive him *smirks*

Daddy is kinda upset

He was supposed to go on his motorbike tour yesterday, but because of the weather that did not happen. He rode for a few hours today, but it is not the same really...

Then he found out that his favourite band is playing a major music festival next weekend. But he did not get a ticket for it, because there is another one a few weeks later with more bands that he likes, so he decided to go to that one instead. Plus the one next weekend is at a place called the Lorelei, where he was supposed to go on his bike tour this weekend, which is another reason he decided not to go there, because he would have been gone there already... now he's not going there at all, and he can't see that band... Oh well, he's gonna see them three days earlier, and a week later, so it should be okay... but it is annoying nonetheless...

Two days ago Daddy went to his old high school, to visit his old english teacher's classes. He does this every year, to tell kids about life in the states, going to college, living thousands of miles away from home. Sometimes they seem interested, but Daddy has noticed that they get more and more indifferent every year. He feels old, mostly because he cannot relate to their mindset. To him Johnny Knoxville is not a hero and totally funny guy, but pretty much a sad, sad person, the kind of kid that eats bugs in school to get attention, grown into a man. And a show like the Osbournes is not really that cool to Daddy either, because to him Ozzy should be the poster child for a new drug-awareness campaign 'Do you want to become this when you are 50... don't do drugs!' Don't get me wrong, Ozzy wrote some great songs, is an awesome singer, and deserves a lot of credit. He is probably a great person as well. But should he be a role model to 14 year olds, who see him stagger around his house in a confused daze, hardly ever noticing what the fuck is going on around him? Daddy feels a little weird ranting about role models for kids and stuff like that. Some of the people he really likes are not exactly model citizens either. And if he dressed up to go clubbing (REALLY dressed up, rather than the stuff he wears normally) he would not be let into the one dinky little place his hometown in Germany has... then again, he would not go to that place anyhow, because it caters to a crowd he couldn't be part of if he tried (or wanted to)

All in all daddy feels tired, burnt out, old, depressed, and a little bit lonely. I wish I was there to cheer him up, and I know the rat-pack would help too, but we are too far away. And I have a feeling that daddy needs not only feline, but maybe also some female companionship... but I might be wrong about that :P

Sniffles Daddy is still in Germany

I miss him badly, but I know he misses me too. He survived his two week Denmark vacation with parents, and is now looking forward to a Cruxshadows concert or two, M'Era Luna festival in August, and a four day motorbike tour this weekend. I kinda wish I could come along, but then again I even get carsick, so I guess that would not be a good idea *smirks*

In October two of daddy's friends from Germany are thinking of visiting, and he is very happy about that. Apparently he told them of me, and they want to come and worship at the Altar of Bounce. They are welcome, if they bring the gift of Tuna... if not they will wake up with a furry facemask every night *Evil kitten-grin*

Oh well, time to go bug Summer for tuna...
